RAKU CERAMIC FIRING parent & child

Raku is an exciting method of firing ceramics
using copper glazes.

You will have the opportunity to decorate your
hand thrown, biscuit fired bowls using the glazes and finishes.

The bowls, traditionally Japanese tea bowls,
are then fired in the gas kiln.

They are then taken from the kiln glowing red and placed in
leaves / sawdust to reduce the oxygen.

Plunging them directly into water completes the process to
produce unpredictable and often amazing results.
