Spend the day learning the skills of traditional and contemporary basketry enabling you to make a basket in the day. Choose a round fruit basket or a hanging basket ~ both equally attractive and versatile! Or come to the class more than once and make both!

Hedgerow Baskets

Make your own basket using freshly gathered hedgerow materials and garden cuttings.  Bring your own clippings to add and make a basket from your garden!

Frame Basket Making

Learn to make a traditional frame basket, using similar materials but different techniques to the round fruit basket. Anthea will guide you through choice of materials and use of tools and provide tuition and support throughout the day enabling you to take home your finished basket at the end of the class.

Random Weave

Learn random willow weaving techniques used to create contemporary baskets, sculptures and decorations. The day will focus especially on creating a random weave willow sphere or bowl.

Rush Work with Liz Balfour
Sat 15th Nov
Learn to make a rush basket using a mould. This is a lovely soft pliable material
to work with.
